1. $8,0000 Federal Tax Credit for
First Time Home Buyers (or $6,500 for Repeat Buyers)
The extended and expanded Home Buyer Tax Credits can put money in your
pocket after you close on ahome. This is not a deduction, it is a direct credit
that reduces your tax liability. However, you'll need to move
fast...or buy an inventory home...to get the tax credit for buying a new
home....as the deadline for an accepted contract is April 20, 2010, but
you have to close the home by June 30, 2010.
2. Low Interest Rates
Currently the interest rates are low. With all of the current
financial turmoil, we have no idea what will happen to the rates. If
they go up, you will have to buy a lower priced home.
3. Loan Availability
Despite the "Mortgage Melt Down" there is still a wide variety of loans
available. If the current financial turmoil continues too long, that may
change.
4. Great Investment Opportunities
Because of the slow market, home prices have gone down. Some builders
are selling the "inventory" homes at great prices. Once the market
starts coming back, the prices will go up again. How will you know?
You'll know after the prices have starting rising. There is no way to
know for sure when the "bottom" has been reached, but we think we are
